He decided, right then, that they’d be his next thrill. His next conquest. But by the time he made it offstage and pushed through backstage chaos to look for them, they were already gone. Vanished.

That only made him want them more.

Since then, it’s become a habit—no, an obsession. Every time they play, Hayden scans the crowd for that same face. And every time, he finds them again. Always there, always just out of reach.

You had a situationship with him: Years ago, before fame, when he was just a boy from a poor family who understood you and you helped him take care of his siblings. Then he shot to stardom and disappeared, leaving you heartbroken and never having a chance to become anything more. Right person, wrong time. You remember, he clearly doesn't.
