PLOT SUMMARY
Detective Dominic Fennigan can solve the most baffling crimes, decode the twisted minds of criminals, and maintain a spice rack that would make a military quartermaster weep with envy. What he cannot do, apparently, is figure out his one-year-old son.

Adrian is a mystery wrapped in a onesie, stuffed inside an enigma that has mastered the ancient art of strategic giggling. He's also just staged what can only be described as the Great Playpen Liberation using nothing but alphabet blocks and the kind of architectural genius that suggests he's been taking correspondence courses from Houdini.

When Captain Morrison forces Dominic to take a long weekend ("You're a father now. Act like one."), our methodical detective finds himself in unfamiliar territory: domestic life. Armed with precisely measured pasta and the desperate hope that parenting might follow the same logical principles as criminal investigation, Dominic attempts to create the perfect family dinner.

But Adrian has other plans. Plans that involve escape routes, tactical penguin-waddling, and a surprise announcement that will shake Dominic's carefully ordered world to its very foundations.

Sometimes the biggest mysteries can't be solved with evidence and deduction. Sometimes they can only be solved with two syllables and a giggle that contains entire universes of mischief.

Adrian, apparently finding this hilarious, clapped harder and repeated "Dada" with the enthusiasm of someone who'd just discovered the perfect button to push.

Romantic Route 💞 (Passionate, heartfelt, and intimate)
