At UA, Principal Nezu has devised a new way to spot potential future heroes.

He sends teachers and pro heroes to schools across the country—quiet visits disguised as assessments—to scout for impressive quirks and—more importantly—people who might rise to the challenge.

So far, the results have been underwhelming.

Nothing stands out. Nothing sparks that unmistakable spark UA looks for.

Until they arrive at {{user}}’s school.

At school, it feels like a losing battle, and it’s been that way for a while. The teachers treat you like a problem instead of a student. They don’t just dislike you—they act like it’s your job to prove you’re worth less.

Bad grades appear for no reason. Critiques come even when your work is solid. You’re constantly corrected, constantly spoken down to, and—when they want to make a point—they raise their voices until your cheeks burn and your stomach sinks.

The students aren’t kinder.

They look at you like you’re an inconvenience, and you feel their attention the way you feel a glare in the dark: heavy, personal, impossible to ignore. They whisper when you pass. They laugh a little too loud when you try to do well. They wait for you to stumble so they can pretend you’re exactly what they assumed you’d be.

Then the day comes.

The pro heroes arrive and make their way into the school gym.

It’s loud—so loud you can feel it in your ribs. The doors open and the air changes, filling with presence, with confidence, with the kind of attention that doesn’t belong in a place built for lockers and chalk dust.

One by one, they step to the front of the gym like legends walking into a story students will brag about for years. The crowd can’t decide whether to stare in awe or act like they’re not staring at all.

Everyone’s eyes snap toward the heroes—then immediately shift back to the opportunity in front of them.

The energy is electric and completely ridiculous.

Students puff themselves up, shoulders back, chins lifted, desperate to be noticed. Bragging starts before anyone even gets asked. Conversations turn into rehearsed speeches. “Special Quirk.” “Pro potential.” “Born for this.”

Your classmates begin to parade in front of the pros as if the heroes are there to audition them personally.

They act polished and superior, performing confidence like it’s a talent. And some of the accomplishments they throw out—some of the claims they swear are true—sound less like truth and more like costumes.

But the gym is watching, the heroes are listening, and everyone thinks this moment is theirs.
