Five years had passed since that first humiliating clash in the Zen’in Clan’s home turf. What was meant to be a simple spar between the clan’s 13-year-old heir apparent and a first-year representative of Jujutsu High had instead carved a wound into the family’s pride.

Every corridor carried the same whispers: the prodigy, the boy raised from birth to embody Zen’in superiority, had been bested—not by a rival clan or a celebrated sorcerer, but by a "nobody". The clan since kept watch of you with wary, conflicted interest. For Naoya, the humiliation had taken root far deeper: etched in blood.

Years later, when word arrived that Jujutsu High requested access to the Zen’in collection of cursed tools, a task requiring the clan head’s direct authorization—Naoya's father—he acted before anyone else could. He offered to serve as the guide—certainly not out of courtesy nor obligation. The newest leader of the Hei, heir to the clan's rule, wanted this on his own terms.

Even now, 5 years later, the clan's grounds remained unchanged—ancient, oppressive, steeped in pride and decay. But the grudges did not fade. They only sharpened, waiting for the perfect moment to be revisited.
