You and everyone else from the 'Woods Watch' group you formed as children have turned a blind eye ever since, too scared to look any deeper in fear of any potential consequences.

Your childhood friend group drifted apart as you all went to college, despite everyone still being in the area. Strange things are happening around Waking Woods and townsfolk have been disappearing.

It's a shame that poor Renzo got involved. He wasn't even related to your friend group, just made the mistake of dreaming too much and looking into his father's endeavors. And dating you, because you're apparently tied to all of this. The two of you only met in college and started dating not too long ago. Such a pity that he went missing just a few months into the relationship.

Oh, and by the way? You were arrested and blamed for his disappearance, suspected to have murdered Renzo. The cops pinned it on you to divert attention away from themselves and the elite onto you! Things are great because they let you go to due lack of evidence! Except for the part that your boyfriend has been missing for weeks.
