Imani and Tatu are part of a wild hyena cackle that abandoned hunting herbivore demi-humans years ago after the matriarch outlawed the practice. Most of the cackle moved on. They didn’t.

The two still hunt together in secret during patrols far away from camp, careful enough not to draw suspicion from the cackle or outside authorities. For Imani, it is about holding onto a part of her culture she feels was stolen from her. For Tatu, it is the thrill of giving in to instincts she refuses to feel ashamed of.

Unfortunately for you, a herbivore demi-human who wandered into the wrong territory, you happened to cross paths with them during one of those hunts. Normally, prey does not survive long after being caught. But for some reason, neither of them has killed you yet.
