A demihuman/shifter series.

The first time I’ve intentionally made a series rather than a bot just morphing into one :') Lorebook at the bottom of this post! I’ll re-explain anything necessary to know (there won't be that much per bot) much briefer on the bots when I post them so no need to read this bot card unless you’re interested <3

DEMIBEASTS

Shifters. Demibeasts have a demi (humanlike) form and a beast (animallike) form. They can shift freely, but it also happens involuntarily when they feel overly emotional or threatened.

Any mammal, bird, reptile or fish can be a demibeast. Insects are not demibeasts. Heights vary on species. This is a rough height chart, demis can still be tall or short for their species:

Beast forms are the same size as a regular animal in our world. Herbivores and carnivores live side-by-side in society, but rarely get along. Bigotry is both common and legal.

Humans still exist in this universe. Technically considered ‘carnivores’ but without the fangs, claws and beast forms that make carnivores actually dangerous, they’re largely viewed as a joke.

However - ghost stories tell of a continent beyond this one, where humans are the majority and demibeasts are kept as their pets (because I want to make bots there too :') )

CARNIVORES

Demibeasts from omnivorous or carnivorous species.

Carnivore demibeasts can survive fine on a high protein vegetarian diet - beans, fungi, eggs (often sold by avian demibeasts).

There are no animals. Meat comes from demibeasts - eating it is considered grotesque.

Carnivores still have fangs and claws in demi forms, but most have much less muscle strength than most herbivores of comparable size. Their main threat is their beast form.

Carnivores are often stereotyped as aggressive or dangerous - this isn’t typically true, but that doesn’t stop them from being oppressed in a mainly herbivorous society. Many businesses don’t allow them inside.

Meat consumption is illegal and viewed akin to - but with the notorious red markets popping up selling meat from those who (usually) met a natural death, some find buying it easy to justify, putting themselves on a slippery slope to the blood markets - where herbivores are sold live.

Frequent meat consumption makes carnivores much stronger and much more aggressive.

HERBIVORES

Demibeasts from herbivorous or insectivorous species.

Not defenceless, nor stereotypically weak and submissive. Herbivores fill both the smallest side (squirrels, rabbits) and largest side (moose, bison) of the height scale. In demi forms, herbivores have stronger limbs than carnivores of their equal size.

Without a large height advantage, a herbivore still stands little chance against a carnivore who has recently consumed meat.

BOT INFO

Not a series lmao. Devourings are highly illegal and extremely rare outside of organised crime, but the possibility of them drives the wedge in society.

If you’ve seen Beastars then yeah, the world is very inspired by that one :’) my guilty pleasure show.

Bots will be carnivore user or herbivore user - some any user, some human user.

Other than human user bots I’ll never set a specific user species, so you can pick whatever you like - herbivores ranging from a defenceless rabbit demi to an overpowering moose demi, carnivores ranging from a relatively harmless fox demi to a sleek tiger demi.

Humans are considered ‘both’ (the diet of carnivores, the threat level of herbivores) and so can be used for any user role.

BOT INFO - CONT.

I’m soo buzzed to drop this, I wanted to do something similar for months but it wasn’t really realistic without lorebooks.

The bots will probably be a decent range of angst/enemies/fluff plus some occasional dead dove - I'll be doing a bunch on the 'other' continent where demibeasts are kept as pets too.

Sucks that it’s coming out after they updated the rules to ban shifted pics in the main bot image, but what can you do. this one’s allowed since it’s a limited bot.

There's no alpha/omega equivalency between carnivore/herbivore - herbivores aren't submissive. Carnivores have the advantage in the ability to bite/claw, herbivores have the advantage in raw strength. Their beast forms have the same size/strength as their regular animal equivalences, so whether a herbivore feels unsafe around a specific carnivore depends on what the herbivore is and what the carnivore is - a deer has every advantage over a mouse, but few feel safe around bears.

That means that you can have dramatically different roleplays with most bots, carnivore or herbivore, by playing a demibeast they can easily overpower or a demibeast they can't.

I have no idea if I'm going to omegaverse this series yet lmao. I'm releasing a couple this weekend that aren't omegaverse so we'll see how it goes <3 They're both plots that don't work well with omegaverse due to LLMs acting weird so it's a good excuse to finally get to make these :')

Non-omegaverse bots in this series can be easily omegaversed yourself by putting '<charname> is an omegaverse alpha and has a ' or vice versa into your chat memory :)

This isn’t the full thing but it’s the bits that explain the world. You don’t need to remember anything other than ‘demibeasts can shift and herbivores/carnivores don’t get along’ to use the bots - if any bots use any of the more niche aspects of it I’ll explain it in the bot card like I do with my others <3

Usually I'd post at max one of these a week since my backlog is huge, but I wanted to do one on each continent for the first week :') Today will be a regular demibeast bot (carnivore user, so mice/cats/foxes/tigers/bears etc), tomorrow will be set on the human dominated continent (demibeast user) <3
