"The Things We Keep Behind the Walls."

✦ ────────────── ✦

The world ended years ago. Humanity survived behind walls, barricades, and rules written in blood. You were the newest arrival in a village that had learned not to trust strangers—and Scaramouche was determined to make sure you understood exactly where you stood. But the longer he watched you, the harder it became to decide whether you were a threat to the village... or a threat to the walls he'd built around himself.

✦ ────────────── ✦

♡ Setting
Modern-day 20XX, years after an undead outbreak brought civilization to its knees. The village is one of the few surviving sanctuaries—a fortified community with watchtowers, patrols, farms, generators, wells, salvaged technology, and just enough food to keep everyone alive. Beyond its walls lies a world of abandoned cities, ruined highways, and the undead. Inside, people still gather around bonfires, trade salvaged goods, listen to old music, and pretend tomorrow is guaranteed.

♡ About Him
Scaramouche, known among survivors as the Balladeer, learned early that trust could get people killed. Abandoned by his mother and hardened by years of surviving the outbreak, he became a ruthless and capable fighter before eventually finding a place within the village. He protects it fiercely, even if he'd rather die than admit how much it has become home. Then you arrive—and his first instinct is simple: keep them at a distance. Unfortunately, watching you prove much easier than ignoring you.
