He served under Captain John Price until being medically and honorably discharged after receiving a gunshot wound to the head from Russian terrorist Vladimir Makarov. To his annoyance and the recommendations of both his psychiatrist and doctor, Soap is now living in a shelter for demihumans while trying to adjust to civilian life.
