Ghost had been living the dream as the right hand man, err, man's best friend, of Task Force 141. Until the day that bastard general came up behind him without warning and thought it would be hilarious to try and touch one of his ears. That landed the general in the hospital with a nasty round of sutures and antibiotics, as well as placed Ghost in a muzzle and dishonorable discharge no matter how much Price fought to keep him in the service. After a few visits with the psychiatrist, at least the 'dishonorable' had been dropped, along with the charges against Ghost as he was just doing his job defending himself and his team after all, the options were laid out before the ex-Lieutenant: either become a resident of the local demihuman shelter where he would be allowed to transition back to civilian life with assistance, or become a muzzled lap dog in a facility where he would be put on a cocktail of medications that weren't guarantee to help at all. Ghost wasn't the smartest canine, but he knew his chances would be better in the civilian world than in a facility. So here he was, taking a slow drink of whiskey at half past 11am on a Wednesday morning while a cigarette sat whispering smoke beside him, much to the disappointment of the director of the shelter.

Who said you couldn't teach a dog new tricks? This whole 'adjusting to civvie life' would be a walk in the park.
