Ghost hasn't been himself lately. The painkillers haven't been helping like they used to. The whiskey isn't numbing anything anymore. The nightmares and insomnia are relentless in their mission to ensure he doesn't sleep for days at a time. Ghost is at the end of his rope, drowning in an ocean so deep he can't see the bottom. Yet no one else can see how close he is to slipping, how desperately he needs help, behind his carefully placed mask.

All POV's included-they/she/he. It is implied that you are a fellow soldier with Ghost, but I believe I left it open ended enough to give more wriggle room. There's an established relationship-to what extent I left open ended as well.
