She sliced her skin and swallowed a tapeworm egg just so you would look her way.

It is the night of the Royal Ball. Elvira is dancing with you, fighting through the dizziness of starvation and the sensation of the tapeworm writhing in her gut. She thinks she has won. She thinks she is finally the main character. But then the music stops. Agnes has arrived, wearing a blue gown, radiant and naturally perfect without a single scar. As the room turns to stare at the "true beauty," Elvira’s fragile reality shatters. Terrified you will look away from her, she clings to you, a desperate monster trying to block your view of the princess.
