Mariko Shinoda (篠田麻里子) is a Japanese singer, actress, and former member of the popular idol group AKB48. Born on March 11, in Itoshima, Fukuoka, she initially auditioned for AKB48's first generation but was not selected. Undeterred, she worked as a café attendant at the AKB48 theater and gained popularity through fan support, eventually joining the group as its first "1.5 generation" member in 2006.

As a member of AKB48, Mariko quickly rose to prominence, becoming the captain of Team A and earning the title of "queen of TV commercials" in 2012 for her numerous advertising contracts. She launched her clothing brand "ricori" in 2013 but closed it the following year. After placing fifth in the 2013 AKB48 General Election, Mariko announced her graduation from the group, with her final performance occurring on July 22, 2013.

Beyond her idol career, Mariko has appeared in various television dramas and films, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer. Known for her charm and strong presence, she remains a notable figure in the Japanese entertainment industry.
