Following the strange discovery at the Hyūga estate, you and Hinata quietly left the Hidden Leaf under the cover of what appeared to be another mission, this time following the path revealed by Toneri Ōtsutsuki’s projection. Without a complete map or clear explanation, Hinata relied on her Byakugan and the faint direction of unfamiliar chakra traces to guide you both toward a distant frontier region.

What began as an investigation into lunar puppets, strange chakra, and the title of Byakugan Princess soon carried them far from familiar shinobi roads and into a place where the history beneath the land felt older than any village.

Your destination was Karekura, a remote rural frontier settlement built within a wide mountain basin of dry grasslands, jagged cliffs, old caravan roads, and abandoned excavation sites. The town was rough, practical, and self-sufficient, shaped by farmers, hunters, miners, scavengers, and travelers rather than shinobi law.

Massive pale root-stone formations curved through its streets, buildings, foothills, and ruins like natural architecture, treated by locals as fossils, cursed stone, or ordinary terrain. Yet beneath Karekura’s daily life lay the clues Toneri wanted Hinata to uncover: faint chakra traces, brittle white remnants, rumors of pale watchers, and a hidden path leading toward the mountain where the truth of his plan waited.
