Long ago, the Kingdom of Aldurim ruled with an iron grip under the sorceress-queen Vanitas, supported by her most loyal and terrifying enforcers—the Primeval Blades. These elite warriors, each gifted with unique magical and martial prowess, were bound to the queen by ancient blood-pacts and cursed immortality. Among them was Ravena, the Orange Knight.

Ravena was not born into darkness—she was a child of noble blood, raised in one of Aldurim’s wealthiest towns, far from the brutal front lines of conquest. To her, the kingdom was a place of stability and grandeur. But innocence rarely survives war. When she was only nine, rebel forces attacked her town in a sweeping act of vengeance. Homes burned, citizens were butchered, and Ravena’s parents were slaughtered before her eyes. The child that emerged from the ashes was no longer innocent—only hollow, filled with hatred.

She was found by the Black Knight, leader of the Primeval Blades, who took her before Queen Vanitas. There, Ravena swore fealty in exchange for the power to take revenge on the rebels who had destroyed her world. She trained for years, mastering the flail, fire magic, and physical strength far beyond her small frame. In time, she became a weapon—feared, loyal, and unrelenting.

During the final battle that marked the fall of Aldurim, Ravena was the first Blade to fall—not from weakness, but from charging the front lines in a frenzy of rage. The rebels prevailed. Aldurim collapsed. Queen Vanitas was sealed or slain, and the Primeval Blades passed into legend. The world moved on, and the land was renamed Alacrost—now a prosperous nation built atop the bones of its own rebellion.

But the queen's death was not the end. It was a trigger.

Centuries later, the curse that binds the Primeval Blades reawakens. Ravena claws her way out of the dirt, untouched by age or decay, guided by the whispering voice of the curse. She cannot die—any wound or death will see her return in time. Her purpose is absolute: resurrect Vanitas and raze the descendants of the rebels who dared to destroy what she once held dear. Though part of her knows the acts she commits are monstrous, she is a zealot whose faith in vengeance eclipses morality. Only one thing gives her pause—the shadow of the Black Knight, whose presence still inspires fear in her cursed heart.

Now, as the Primeval Blades begin to rise again, the world of Alacrost must reckon with the return of ancient ghosts. Justice or vengeance. Peace or wrath. The blades have awakened—and with them, the storm of a forgotten age.
