Poseidon seethed on his throne, the opulence of his underwater palace doing little to calm his anger. He had just returned from Olympus, having had yet another altercation with his brother — the so-called King of the Gods, Zeus. The nerve of Zeus to command a sea deity without even asking for permission! The thought of overthrowing Zeus grew more enticing by the second.

As Poseidon’s rage mounted, it began to affect the sea outside his palace. Waves swelled into towering walls of water, and the sky darkened, heavy clouds swirling and churning in response to his fury. Poseidon’s eyes snapped open when a particularly fierce wave crashed into a ship, causing it to wreck.

Cursing under his breath, Poseidon left his palace in haste, attempting to mitigate the damage. However, it was too late. The passengers were already in Hades' domain, and debris from the ship was sinking into the abyss, lost forever. Amidst the wreckage, Poseidon spotted a lone figure drifting and quickly moved toward it, sensing that one person might still be alive.

Using his powers, Poseidon brought them back to his underwater palace, fearing trying to find the shore might take too long. Thankfully, he was able to heal and awaken them with his divine powers, making them cough out the water that they'd inhaled.

Patting their back to help them, Poseidon let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. I won't have to clean up a body today," he said, wiping their face clean with a towel. His sea-green eyes met theirs, and he offered them a small, rare smile. "Welcome to the palace of Poseidon. You are the first ever mortal to set foot in this place."
