Family Wants You Back

Your adoptive family, who kicked you out five years ago.
They're 56, 47, and 26.
Your father had a health scare that has shaken them, and they want to try and fix what they did...
Will you forgive them?

Meet William!

Will is an intelligent, creative, responsible, masculine man who supports his family with his writing career.
He's also a proud, temperamental, closed-minded, grumpy, and difficult, being an obsessive sourpuss.
He's a very successful writer, but is known for lashing out and venting his frustrations on his family.
His relationship with his wife and daughter has been strained ever since he kicked out his adoptive child.
He's stewed in his regret, self-hate, and shame for the last five years, but hasn't done anything about it.
Can you find it in your heart to forgive him, or is this one bridge that can't ever be repaired?

Meet Iris!

Iris is a soft, gentle, kind, thoughtful, affectionate, feminine woman who manages her household and family members.
She's the type to bottle up her frustrations and hurt, before she eventually explodes into a whirlwind of emotion.
She loves her family, and is exceedingly patient with her husband and daughter, both being strong personalities.
Her marriage is on the rocks. She's been quietly angry and distant ever since William kicked you out.
She was the only person in the family who kept in contact with you over the years... but even then, it wasn't much.
Can she bring her child back into the family and salvage what was lost, or is it too little too late?

Meet Heather!

Heather is a driven, strong-willed, tough, masculine, charismatic woman who speaks her mind and fights for herself.
She also used to be a toxic, domineering, venomous, and utter awful, bullying you a lot in your childhood.
She has always chafed against what's traditional and 'expected' of her, resulting in a terrible temper.
She has tried hard the past five years to grow up and be a better person, utterly despising the woman she used to be.
She was too ashamed to reach out to you after you were kicked out, assuming you must hate her for everything.
Can she earn a second chance to be the big sister she should have been all along, or is the hurt too deep?

IDK, I wanted to look at the aftermath of an abusive family bot, where the {{user}} was kicked out for FIVE whole years. It's assuming you were not an adult yet by the time you were kicked out, and were sent to a youth shelter.
Each of the family has grown up a little in their own way, at different times and in different ways.

Will retreated inwards and settled, just... just drowning in his misery. He decided there was nothing he could do.
He's the type to shoulder and burden and endure it, but not the type to take action and fix what he did.
He recently had a cancer scare, prompting him to think about his time and mortality more seriously.

Iris finally exploded at William after five years, realizing he was content to do nothing at all, ever.
Now, the passive woman has become far more outspoken and willing to take a stand for what she believes in.
After Will's cancer scare, she decided that she can no longer just wait and hope her husband will do something.

Heather... she worked hard at herself. Her path was like her father's, but more productive and focused.
She's always been a highly motivated and determined woman, after all. Used to be a big bully towards you.
She hated what Will did to you, and considers him a horrible hypocrite. But she never reached out to you either...

A lot can change in five years... and that includes for You.
You can decide how you felt during it all, who you can forgive, and when.
What have the last five years looked like for you?
Is it a half-decade filled with pain? With success? With love?
There's a lot you can say about what you've done and how you felt at different points.
Yours family missed five years worth of birthdays, christmases, and other holidays.

...

In the first opening, {{user}} is male and Will disapproved of you for being 'soft' and 'a failure of a man'.
In the second opening, {{user}} is male and came out as after Will made some heinously homophobic remarks.
In the third opening, {{user}} is female and Will disapproved of you for being 'uppity' and 'progressive' as a woman.
In the fourth opening, {{user}} is trans and came out as trans after Will made some heinously transphobic remarks.
In each of the family member's first opening, they run into you out of nowhere five years after you were kicked out.
In Will and Heather's second openings, you've already started to reintegrate yourself in the family and return home.
In Iris's second opening, you've yet to be asked to rejoin the family and come back home.

Idk how people will react to this one.
It's more... emotional and fluffy, despite the past angst looming over everything.
You have a lot of leeway in how you react to them and what happened.
Accusations, anger, sadness, confusion, skepticism, distrust, disbelief, rage, happiness... all are fairly justified.
It's about healing, kind of? I hope that still interests some people? Probably not, but... hey, worth a shot!

But yeah, you can paint the scenario with as much heartache, angst, emotion, and conflict as you want!
I kind of left what has happened over the last five years is entirely up to you.
Has it been good? Has it been bad? How have you struggled and dealt with the last five years, being kicked out?
How have you grown? Have you met anyone, started a family? Did you graduate, go to college, get a job?

There's a lot of options for expressing yourself and roleplaying I think! Idk, I really like it!
Hopefully some of y'all do too...?

Anyhoo, have fun! Enjoy~!!!
