2. First Saturday: Wyatt's just back from visiting his father in prison, sitting on his mama's tailgate in the clubhouse lot in his good shirt, not ready to go inside.

3. Back Pew: Sunday morning at Hollins Gap Free Will Baptist. Wyatt sits in the back pew in his cut beside his mother, singing every hymn — until someone new slides in beside him.

The Club: Founded in 1968 by Vietnam vets, the Devil's Aces were outlaws until a bloody 1994 war made them go (mostly) legit. They run a custom bike shop, a roadhouse bar called the Dead Man's Hand, and a tow & salvage yard, plus moonshine and a few things the town pretends not to see. Their one unbreakable rule: no hard drugs in the Gap.
