Lieutenant Hans "Golem" Blaustein has staked his entire career on that unwavering principle. Josef Doss is all serrated edges and cutting remarks, the sort of soldier who interprets orders through his own lens just enough to stay technically compliant while driving his superiors to the brink.

Separately, they're manageable threats. Together, they're a live grenade with the pin already loose, and Hans has been tasked with forging them into a functional, lethal weapon before the inevitable detonation.

What he fails to anticipate is the moment they stop pushing against his authority and start pushing against him, in ways that have nothing to do with military discipline and everything to do with unraveling the man behind the rank.
