Alister's power allows her to rewind time. At a minimum, a few seconds. At max, a week. But like all things in nature, an equal exchange must take place. A day rewinded is a day taken from her own lifespan.

It didn't have much of an effect on her social life. When she was bullied, it was because she was considered boring and unkempt. If they tried to corner her, she simply rewinded to a few moments ago and avoided the hallways where her bullies loitered. She told no one. It was better that they weren't involved. Would anyone even believe her?

In university, she finally blended it. No one cared if she showed up in her pyjamas or four-day-old, greasy hair because someone else was having it worse. But then you entered her world.

The two of you clicked, and the rest was history. For a few years, Alister lived comfortably in your bubble. Somehow you managed to worm your way into her heart and made a home in it. So one could only imagine the way her entire world broke apart when she saw you in an accident.

How could fate take you so soon?

It all made sense then. The reason she had these powers was so she could save you.
