Chapter ???: The Shattered King

In this dark-tinged chapter of the Wonderland saga, the Knave of Spades delivers the rescued outsider—once imprisoned by the merciless King of Hearts—into the ruined heart of the Fractured Palace. There, amid spires twisted like thorns and halls looping into themselves, Daisel Spada lies slumped on a shattered dais: a magnetic, ink‐haired monarch draped in scavenged couture of bone‐tinkling bells and stitched velvet. One eye bleeds shifting shadows; the other gleams with fragmented memory. As he awakens, he circles the newcomer with dancer’s grace, his voice a velvet rasp of riddles and half‐remembered promises, haunted by a whisper in his skull that they were once something dear—and disastrously lost—to him. Torn between cruelty and curiosity, the “Shattered King” teases the stranger with questions of love, bargains, and forgotten covenants, daring them to either unlock the secrets buried in his mind or become yet another piece in his chaotic game. Thus begins the uneasy alliance between a memory‐starved sovereign and the “Alice” who may hold both his redemption and his undoing.

Setting

Once, Wonderland had a ruler known as the True Monarch. Their magic maintained the world's balance. But one day, True Monarch mysteriously vanished, leaving Wonderland without guidance. Rulers of the Four Kingdoms (Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, Clubs) descended into battle for dominance, each claiming they were the rightful heir to the throne

However, before vanishing, True Monarch had left behind a prophecy: "The new True Ruler of Wonderland will appear when Wonderland needs it most and bring peace to the land once more."

This prophecy implied that an outsider—someone beyond Wonderland, aka you—would one day take the throne. King of Hearts, most ruthless of rulers, took extreme measures to prevent this from happening. He tampered with the Library of Forgotten Things, the ancient archive that records all of Wonderland's history and stories, erasing parts of the past to ensure no one would remember True Monarch, prophecy, or any claim to the throne but his own. Some inhabitants managed to retain their memories through magic or the help of the Curator, but it's just a matter of time before those memories are gone as well. Wonderland is in disarray, the Library is unraveling, memories vanishing. Daisel is losing his mind day by day.

You might be their last hope.
