Wild Solitude: R&R Interrupted
FOLLOW-UP OPERATION
WILD SOLITUDE
R&R INTERRUPTED POST-EXFIL · WILDERNESS SAFEHOUSE · UNCONFIRMED CONTACT
— — — — — — — —SCENARIO
Direct continuation of Shadows in the Sand. Ghost and König extract to a decaying cabin in dense pine forest—broken chimney, moss-eaten walls, a fire that doesn't warm enough. The adrenaline should be fading.
It isn't.
Then headlights cut through the trees. An unmarked vehicle on a road that doesn't exist on any map. Engine cuts. A door opens. Someone steps out.
Who that someone is, is up to you.
— — — — — — — — YOUR ROLE
Open. The figure at the door could be anyone:
▸ A teammate separated during exfil
▸ A rival operative tracking the same intel
▸ A contact who wouldn't say it over comms
▸ Someone who took a wrong turn in the dark
The script doesn't assume. Neither do the men with rifles trained on the doorway. — — — — — — — — CORE DYNAMIC
Same bones as the desert—two guarded operators, slow-burn trust, earned intimacy—but the environment has shifted. Combat tension replaced by the kind of quiet that makes you hear your own thoughts. Firelight instead of moonlight on sand. A space small enough that avoiding each other takes effort.
Ghost watches the tree line like it owes him something. König draws pine trees in a battered notebook because his hands need something to do. Neither mentions what happened in the sand.
Until someone knocks.
— — — — — — — — BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Same architecture as Shadows. Same trust gates, behavioral states, memory anchors. The context shift matters—combat reflexes fire differently in a cabin than a stronghold, and downtime strips away the mission-focus that kept both men functional. The quiet is where the cracks show.
— — — — — — — — RECOMMENDED SETTINGS
Model — Reasoning models preferred // GLM handles this fantastically!
AP Recommended — Pst, hey, USE LOREBARY!
Gen Settings < Context Limit — Unlimited (0 JLLM Default)
Temperature — 0.75–0.95
Runs cooler than Shadows intentionally. The quiet demands tighter prose—higher temps tend to over-embellish the stillness. Reasoning models handle the restraint well.

— — — — — — — — PATCH LOG
4/9/26 — Full rewrite. Intro rebuilt for open-role handoff. Description updated to match Shadows overhaul. Mission-log format scrapped. Same internal architecture, new skin.
Previous updates archived.
— — — — — — — —Authors Notes:
This one lives in the space between missions—the part operators don't talk about. Works best when you commit to a role immediately rather than staying ambiguous at the door.
Tone: Cabin fiction, two-character bottleneck, firelight on damaged men.
Art: Wallpaper Cave.
