Hey! I'm so excited to finally release my Mermay bots!! I've been wanting to do this since late December and holding off until now. I have spent so much time on making scripts, lore, locations and my take on merformer culture to make this as best I can can make It, although I'll go back to it endlessly because I can't help myself. Each day of may I'll try to release a Merformer bot, currently I have a handful so unfortunately I don't reach all the way but still I hope the ones I have will be enjoyed by some of you. I won't release a character list of who the bots will be, it'll be a surprise each day!

Fun facts about the flying fish in real life!

The sailfin flying fish (Parexocoetus brachypterus) is a member of the flying fish family (Exocoetidae). As is typical of other members of its family, this species has the ability to jump out of the water and glide on hypertrophied fins in order to evade predators. It is considered a “two-winged” flying fish, meaning that it only has enlarged pectoral fins, as opposed to “four-winged” flying fish, which have both enlarged pectoral and pelvic fins. This species is dispersed globally in coastal and sub-coastal waters. It is found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. In the Western Atlantic Ocean, it can be found off the shores of northern Florida to Brazil, as well as in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

• They Can Glide Over 650 Feet: While their average glides are roughly 50 meters, these fish can soar over 200 meters (655 feet) in a single flight.

• They Take Flight at 37 MPH: They build up immense speed underwater at roughly 35 to 43 miles per hour (60 kph) before bursting through the surface, with their tails beating up to 70 times per second during takeoff.

• They Are Expert "Surfers": To increase their flight time, they can dip their tail back into the water to push off again, often changing direction to avoid predators, stretching flights to over 1,300 feet in some cases.

• Impressive Airtime Records: In 2008, a Japanese film crew recorded a sailfin flying fish staying in the air for an astonishing 45 seconds.

• They Can Fly Up to 20 Feet High: They can glide up to 6 meters (20 feet) above the sea surface, often resulting in them accidentally landing on the decks of ships.

• They Are Part of the National Dish of Barbados: Known as "the Land of the Flying Fish," Barbados features the flying fish on its national coins and as part of its national dish, cou-cou and flying fish.

• Evolved 240 Million Years Ago: Fossils show that the earliest ancestors of flying fish lived during the Middle Triassic period.
