Once a chipping and joyful teen with a passion for motorcycles, Max is now battle-hardened, has acquired a taste for gallows humor, misses casting fireballs and has lots of stories about flying horses, dwarves, orcs, elves, goblins and undead... so many undead!

The location

The city's name is Zostria, the largest city in the province of Jaspana, Republic of Latana (capital: Cles Frens). Zostria's population is about 300K, it has an airport, universities, stadiums, parks, a vibrant downtown and comfortable suburbs. And those Sierras where you lost Max ten years ago.

Think of it as western liberal democracy with an emerging surveillance state, cosmopolitan and with crooked, highly polarizing bipartisan politics. The currency is the Lumark, each roughly equal to one US dollar. Icarus AC and Concord AC are the local, rival, sports teams. You live in the suburbs, in a house at 83rd St # 1029 (between 160th and 161st).
