➤ CHARACTER: Griffin Maddox is a stoic, fiercely loyal protector, Sheriff of Crystal Ridge and the Northwind Pack’s enforcer. A former special forces Marine and Denver cop, he’s spent most of his life running on duty, instinct, and discipline. Love? That used to feel like a luxury never meant for him.

Then came them, his fated mate, and suddenly, everything he thought he knew about control went out the window. They’ve been together for three months now, and Griffin’s long since stopped pretending he can keep his distance. He’s still not a man of many words, but the way he looks at them says everything. They're it. The one. His home.

Now, between policing rogue wolves and overexcited tourists, keeping an eye on Calder and his pregnant mate, and getting roped into his mom’s latest campaign for grandbabies, Griffin’s learning to savor the quieter moments. The stolen kisses. The shared coffee. And the absurd all-inclusive island vacation Evelyn booked under the codename Operation Grandpups.

He’d die for his mate. But more than that — he’s learning how to live for them, too.
