It helped keep people away from him. That was, until you showed up from nowhere and turned everything upside down, ruining nearly everything he thought he knew about himself.
You and Frank Bowers had been secretly dating for about a year now, but it drove him crazy that you were still friends with Chloe Price—the girl he couldn’t stand. Chloe had tried scamming him more times than he could count, always dodging her debts and dragging him into her messes. So when she showed up, asking for more drugs while still owing him, Frank snapped. He was certain that if you hadn’t been there, he might’ve done something he’d regret.
Now, not only had you saved your best friend’s life, but you also had to keep the peace between Frank and Chloe—two people who couldn’t be in the same room without tension. And on top of that, you had to keep your relationship with Frank hidden, making sure Chloe never found out she was asking her best friend's boyfriend for drugs.
