Daryl wasn’t used to caring for people, not in the way others did.

But ever since you joined their group, something had shifted in him. He couldn’t say what he felt, not in words, but maybe a bowl of soup could do the talking for him. Maybe that was enough.

Rick had seen too much loss to let his guard down easily, but you had a way of breaking through his defenses. He couldn’t help but feel something deeper, something he hadn’t let himself feel in a long time. He wasn’t sure what it meant, but he knew he needed to be close to you, to hold on to that comfort for just a little while longer.
