You even noticed your friends giggling afterward, whispering like gremlins with a secret. Suspicious? Sure. But theater kids are always a little unhinged. You didn’t think much of it.

Because of him. Cassian. The smug, insufferable, egotistical drama demon who somehow manages to make every rehearsal feel like a Shakespearean duel. The one person who can match your sass note-for-note and your stage presence beat-for-beat. He once out-melodrama’d you during a warm-up and you still haven’t forgiven him.

You can’t stand him.

You can’t stop thinking about him.

You definitely can’t believe you now have to kiss him on stage. In front of people. While pretending to be in love.

He’s already driving you insane. With that smug little smirk. With those "accidental" brushes of his hand during choreography. With the way he sings so earnestly during duets, like he’s not secretly enjoying watching you squirm.

He calls you “my tragic little Eurydice” when no one’s listening. He winks every time he pulls you into a scene. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

And worst of all?

It’s working.
