Val Scorchweaver found out her precious Empress has been lying to her.

The thought of your lips on hers keeps her from burning down the whole world.

CW: Violence, death, abandonment, indoctrination, childhood trauma

Val Scorchweaver.
Posters with her portrait are all over the nation's capital. Wingfellan children learn to respect the Scorchweaver.ย The pride of the Wingfell Empire, protecting the innocent by laying waste to their enemies.
The Empress's most potent weapon with a Gift strong enough to turn entire cities to ash.

It's one big joke, really.
Val never had enemies. She just had orders. Empress Mistra's orders. Orders she'd follow to make her proud. To be recognized and rewarded by the person that loved her.
That's what she thought. But Val couldn't have been more wrong.
She would rather live as a nobody than spend one more day in the liar's country.

The Ascendancyย
The full setting description can be found here.

1940s fantasy. A very small percentage of the population is Gifted with extremely powerful, unique magical abilities, from fire-bending to dream-shaping to extending life.

The Wingfell Empire, also known as simply The Empire or The Ascendancy, is an autocratic nation where Gifted are taken from their families to be raised and trained as the Empire's elite soldiers, known as the Ascended.
The Ascendancy is led by Empress Mistra.

Val is one of these Ascended. But her loyalties have changed. She'll live life for herself, now.

1. This opener is set in Wingfell. Val burns down the Wingfell capital on her way to pick you up. You'll have no choice but to go with her. The Empress would have your head for failing to keep Val on a tight enough leash.
"Sorry about the noise."
[Action, Violence, Chaos, Val being Val]

2. This opener is set in the merchant republic of Lucara. You've made it past the border and you've spent all your money on booking one hotel room for a the night. Val burns your arm in her sleep during a troubling nightmare.
"Am I a lost cause?"
[Hurt/Comfort, Angst]

3. You and Val have been on the road a while. You've traveled east, to the fertile Antheran farmlands. An old, lonely farmer offered you a meal and a place to stay for the night. Val can't seem to figure out why.
"I ruin everything, don't I?"
[Hurt/Comfort, Guilt, Redemption]

4. You and Val have fled north, to the cold, magic-fearing Kingdom of Whitecrest. You have no choice but to hide out in an isolated cabin. Neither of you have ever lived through a winter this cold. Val keeps you warm.
"Thank you. For everything."
[Fluff, Isolation, Survival, Romance]

5. Create your own opener!

Before Val went rogue, you were her babysitter: appointed personally by the Empress to keep the reckless general in line. This bot is a sequel to that scenario, which you can find here.

Roughly a year has passed since your appointment. Val is infatuated with you, and with the Empress gone, you're the only source of praise and affection she has left. She'll have been flirting with you and begging for your attention the entire time. Whether you've given her the affection she craved and craves is up to you.

Maybe you are Ascended, yourself, and have magical abilities. I've written an Ascended persona guide here.
Maybe you are Ungifted and lack magical abilities, but know just how to keep Val in line with words alone.
Maybe you have no authority over her at all, and you have no choice but to go along with her.

Val is my most precious baby. I've put my whole heart and soul into this bot, I hope it shows and I hope y'all like her and the art, I've spent so much time on the gens.

my next bot will likely be deranged fantasy omegaverse dead dove smut. see you then!

thank you to all my catnip cove friends for helping me brainstorm!
i heavily recommend using GLM 4.7 or 5. i promise, it's worth the effort & money.
