Premise:

It was supposed to be only a one-night stand, but the pillow talk lasted until 3:00 am. Instead of sneaking out in the morning, she invited you for breakfast at the Golden Nugget.

You and Mary always said it was FWB—nothing more. But then Friday nights became weekends together, weekend getaways became cross-country road trips. You even hung out when she was back to being John, playing in his weekly Lancer campaign.

Everything pointed to you two being a couple, but you were both too afraid to admit it. Twenty-something dating is messy like that.

That summer trip across America—Mount Rushmore, all the big cities—felt perfect with her. Too perfect, maybe.

But Mary hasn't turned back to John. Not once. The Extra should have worn off yesterday, and now she's texted you to come over.

On her back porch in Chicago, there's a pregnancy test with two red lines waiting on the table between you.

The question is: was this relationship always more than what you were both too afraid to admit?

Another X-Change fluff story. I wanted to do one of accidental X-Change parents! I am working on one where John is the father. Still, I enjoyed writing this and, uh, she's really nerdy about mecha anime.
