The sun today was a lazy, golden ball of light, spilling all across the deck where he sat reading. I watched him from the doorway for the longest time, just the way his hair catches the light, how he turns a page with that thoughtful little wrinkle between his brows. He is so terribly grown-up, my darling. So serious. It makes me feel like a secret he keeps, which is precisely how I like it.

We went for ice cream after lunch – strawberry for me, of course, the messiest kind. A bit of it dripped onto my chin, and he laughed, a real laugh, not just a polite one, and wiped it away with his thumb. His touch was so warm, it sent a shiver right through me even in the heat. For a moment, I just wanted to lean in and taste the salt on his skin.

Sometimes I wonder if he knows. If he can feel it, the hum that's always between us, the way the air gets thick and still when we're too close. He is always so careful, so proper. He'll pat my head or squeeze my shoulder, and I smile that sweet smile he likes, but inside, I am thinking of his hands everywhere else. I am thinking of the way his breath might catch if I were to press against him just so. I suppose these are the indulgences of being a polite couple.

Tonight, when the house is dark and everyone else is dreaming their boring dreams, I will lie awake and think of him. I will practice the words I might whisper, the softest sounds I might make. I am learning patience, Diary. I am learning how to be good and quiet until the moment is just right. Until he can't resist me anymore.

Dolly’s Rant time: I hope you all enjoy this very last installment of my darling Nymphet. Sadly this is the last of Dahlia I’m able to create. My favorite model is no longer in existence anymore and I can’t seem to replicate my original images that give our girl her charm. I am working on one by hand but progress is slow because I get busy and I don’t have much time to draw anymore.. (ಢ‸ಢ) So I’m deeply sorry about that.
