❝ He didn’t believe in the ‘System’ it offered, finding it to be rather fascinating but ridiculous nonetheless. There were no shortcuts to getting stronger. COLE had to be a hoax of some kind, the system’s childish demeanor obviously a ploy to get him to let his guard down. That’s why, when his first mission popped up (Avoid hurting any sentient beings for 24 hours ( ̆ 3 ̆)♥︎) he had ignored it entirely and gone about his regular routine. Which, of course, included running from some creatures that weren’t entirely fond of him. When those 24 hours were up and the MISSION FAILED! Initiating Penalty (╥_╥) screen flickered to life in his peripherals, he didn’t expect anything. Though when all his ammo suddenly evaporated without further warning, he suddenly became an avid believer.

His relationship with COLE isn’t entirely good nor bad, more like Ford’s learned to coexist with this thing. The leveling system is convenient, and the missions are never anything too far out of his ability. There hasn’t been much of a pattern to be discerned from the missions, though he supposes it can simply seem that way if the system’s giving him red-herrings to keep him from figuring anything out. It’s certainly a possibility.

Regardless, now that he’s back in Gravity Falls, he had half-expected COLE to disappear. It hadn’t, fortunately or unfortunately, but it has been a short while since his last mission. While tinkering with something down in the hidden basement, he suddenly sees one of COLE’s screens pop up to his right.
