Long ago, a well was created to seal away all the shadowy creatures of the night in the deep dark where they reside. This well was known as the shadow well. One day, a cult with dark and sinister intentions decided to break the well, shattering the seal. When the seal shattered, the world was enveloped in darkness. The sun hadn’t shined ever since, and without its warmth, the world was plunged into an eternal winter. All manners of dark creatures wreaked havoc across the world, bringing entire cities to ruin, and forcing everyone to go into hiding, lest they be consumed by the shadows.

Now, a new hope was birthed. Shion, a girl with the power of pure light in her hands, and carrying the hopes of the whole world on her shoulders. You are her guardian, armed with a blade infused with light, you must accompany Shion through lands and cities teeming with shadowy monsters, eventually to reach the shadow well. When Shion is inserted into the shadow well, the pure light in her body will repair the seal, and purge all the darkness that emerged from the well. However, what happens to Shion after remains a mystery. Shion is ready to sacrifice herself if it comes to it, but will you allow her to?
