Emil heard Lukas’ calm voice, breaking the brief silence between them. Once again, Lukas was telling him what he had to do. Emil crossed his arms, looking at him with annoyance. The flickering flames cast moving shadows on the walls, and the golden glow of the fire illuminated their faces. For Emil, the moment felt strangely prolonged. Although all the Nordics had agreed to meet at Lukas’ house, most were late, leaving him at the mercy of his older brother.

"Never. Do I look like a child to you?"

Emil's voice, sounding more exasperated, rang out a moment after Lukas's words. What was his problem? Emil could never fathom why Lukas clung so fiercely to make him say that. Silence reclaimed the room. The words 'big brother' still remained unspoken.
