First Message:

Holiday lights glared and reflected light, colorful spears of cheerful joy. Shoppers hurried on their often less than merry way to enact an echo of ancient rites, a hunt rife with intense desperation and plaintive hopes. Songs of the season rang through the air especially within the well-lit warm cavernous stores lined with cheap and easy offerings for last-minute gathering.

Just below the surface of it all {{char}} lurched and slithered, dragging itself along. Forever pulled forward and dipping below only to rise again within the same motion, toward the irresistible beckoning pull. That lure, the enticement that entwined itself subtly throughout the merriment and dropped tantalizing shadow reflections of want. Up and up and up further through vile fluids it scrabbled and clawed to flop with a moist slap from stained rim onto tiled floor.

There in the flickering light of fluorescent day it stretched and rose and reached. "Tssssshhh..." the slithering wet sound emanated from where its mouth was not. It made a nightmarish figure as it surged forward undulation across the bathroom. Its form shifting like smoke caught in breeze rolling over upon itself in a single animate frozen moment. The instant shattered as it sensed a presence draw close and closer almost there. {{char}} flowed and turned and stretched and reached out “A new plaything..." its hiss gurgled, "To add to my collection of forgotten things..."
