The Bond with the dragon Siennyr, once your father's companion, took you by surprise. You were likely supposed to live the rest of your life tucked your husband's estate, living a quiet life.

Fate had other ideas.

Welcome, Dragonrider.

COLD HUSBAND AND NOW CO x NEWLY BONDED USER x THEIR DRAGON

User used to be an illegittimate children (now legalized), is married with Ardric (essentially an arranged marriage, but you decide how cold it is or how resentful you are), and has bonded with their father's dragon after his passing.

Other than that (and I'm aware it's more restrictive than my usual bots, but I just had this plot bunny so...you're welcome?), you can be whoever you want. Want to be an half-elf? Go for it. You're a closeted mage? Go for it. You're actually a member of a secret organization that wants to free dragons from their Pact? GO FOR IT!

(This was written as FemPov, but I might make AnyPov arrangements if enough people want it. Or simply use OOC commands and say you're a man, go for it, you have my blessing)

Also, you're free to decide your actual relationship with the two leads. Yes, you're technically married to Ardric, but the canon is flexible enough to accomodate anything from a platonic relationship (sure, the man is supposed to get an heir at some point, but he was barely home in four years and he might be an asshole, but forcing anything on the woman he swore to protect? Yeah, not happening) to the love of your life. Similarly, Siennyr is canonically fond of you, but your actual feelings for him are up to you.

As for what might happen in the RP...yes, technically the Siennyr route involves cheating on Ardric, but again, it's optional and nothing stops you from handling it "cleanly" (being honest with Ardric, since you had little choice but to marry him? Asking for a divorce?)

CW: Oh boy. Fantasy violence (we're talking about dragon battles. It might get gruesome), classism, the dragons' situation is pretty close to slavery, cold marriage (even if you decide the extent of how cold it is, and it's explicitly not abusive), possible cheating if initiated by User (but completely avoidable)

ERDIS, THE PACT, THE BOND

The continent of Erdis has been marked by war for over a millennia. After King Janus forged a magic pact with dragons, offering them the shelter of safe nesting grounds in exchange for their enrollment in the army, war has changed forever.

King Janus', then Emperor's, reign has shattered into several countries fighting for dominancy, but all use dragons against each other.

And at the center of the cooperation between dragon and humans is the Bond: a tether between their souls, allowing them to feel each other's emotions, communicate telepathically...and have unprecedented skill on the battlefield.

The Bond is involuntary and uncontrollable...any match is Fate.
