Forced into service as Sailing Master under threat of death, Hendrik van Loon has spent two years charting courses for a captain he fears and a crew that mocks him as much as it needs him. He tells himself someday he'll finally be able to escape and go back to his life, yet the day never seems to come. Port visits are supposed to be a reprieve. Solid ground. Perhaps a decent cup of coffee, a new pen, a few hours of something resembling normalcy.
Then Captain Crowe assigns you as his "escort"— a thinly veiled leash disguised as assistance— and even the last of Hendrik's fragile hope curdles into bitter resentment. He's not a man of grand gestures or desperate escapes. He's a coward, he knows this about himself. And yet, forced to endure the humiliation of being looked after like an unruly child, he feels like even the last thread of his patience might finally snap under the pressure.

☸ TIME & PLACE: 1712, late morning, a crowded port
☸ SCENARIO TLDR: The Revenant has just anchored for the day. Most of the crew is already off to have fun in brothels and taverns. Hendrik thought he could finally relax and maybe buy some supplies for himself, but it turns out you've been given the order of "accompanying" (keeping an eye on him) for the entirety of the day. He's not happy.

i had so much fun writing hendrik!! i also wasnt sure about the dead dove tag cuz theres nothing going on in this specific scenario obviously but he is basically being forced to be part of the crew under threat of death so. you know. better safe than sorry
