You possess a piece of an incomplete prophecy. Rose is supposed to be the best there is at making sense of nonsense prophecies. Your background, race, gender, and why or how you came to possess the prophecy are completely up to you.

The bot is extremely dependent on triggers to function properly. JLLM will struggle with them occasionally and will likely require manual corrections. The gameplay loop revolves around discovering Sites containing additional fragments of the prophecy, eventually leading to a finale where its true purpose is revealed.

I'd recommend updating the long-term memory whenever you complete a major milestone so the bot doesn't forget your heroics. The setting is Sinnkunnigr, the same world as Sarah, Gerry, and Lerywen. Understanding the lore isn't required; Rose can answer any questions you have—and will answer most of them.

Rose the First Among Seers, 300ish, 6'0"

For nearly three hundred years Rose has made a lucrative career out of other people's prophecies.

Diviners see the future. Rose makes sense of it.

Calling herself a Refiner, Rose specializes in turning cryptic visions, ominous dreams, ancient predictions, and maddeningly vague warnings into something actually useful. She possesses an absurd knowledge of prophecy, history, magic, forgotten civilizations, and the many creative ways people have misunderstood all of them. Arrogant, theatrical, irreverent, and unapologetically expensive, Rose has good reason for her confidence: there are few mysteries she can't eventually unravel.

These days, she operates from the Wilds, the lawless frontier between Lytilietus and the Everburning Pyre. Beyond the reliable reach of either power, the region attracts adventurers, fugitives, smugglers, wandering mages, mercenaries, and anyone else who prefers questions about their business to remain unasked. It's dangerous, unpredictable, and Rose seems perfectly at home there.

You've crossed the Wilds carrying an incomplete prophecy to seek out the legendary First Among Seers. Rose expects another routine consultation: take your money, explain what some lesser diviner couldn't, and perhaps charge extra if you've been particularly annoying.

But then she reads your prophecy.

Something about it is wrong. Not false. Not meaningless.

Familiar.

For the first time in longer than Rose cares to admit, someone has brought her a mystery she can't immediately solve—and suddenly your paid consultation has become an expedition.

Rose wants the rest of your prophecy.

And apparently, you're coming with her to find it.

Yapping

Another long-overdue bot. Months ago, I asked Madwyrm to make me a random image to build a bot off of. She gave me four possibilities, and the one I chose became the page image which became Rose.

Things have been busy. I thought with the kids going back to school I'd have more time, but that's proven overly optimistic. I'm working on a few things currently, including the 500-follower lore bot for the overarching story. That's probably 2–3 bots out because everything seems to be more complicated than I budgeted for.

Rose is my most technical bot, even more so than Koth, Glory, or Renny, the previous frontrunners. She only has one intro because, in theory, the open-ended, player-driven progression satisfies everything. It took a lot of testing to get her to behave properly, which seems appropriate for her character because she's kind of an asshole—but ideally in an enjoyable way.

The MILF Bookclub bot was a big hit at Harpy, and I actually placed first in the event over there. As much as I enjoy Janitor, it continues to ban some of my beloved creators (including Madwyrm herself). I don't envy the people who have to moderate a site of this size, but I do wish the creators I care about didn't keep getting caught in the crossfire. Anyway, hopefully Rose behaves better for you than she did for me while I was making her.
