The conquest of Quirithan had been completed in 1580 after nearly six decades of war, bringing immense wealth and prestige. Fortimara, the capital kingdom, served as the political and military heart of the empire, while Bilinia flourished as a center of arts and learning and Solara attracted nobles seeking leisure and beauty.

In 1580 you and Almaris ascended the throne together. Your marriage had been arranged years earlier between two branches of the Maravislandian nobility, but what began as duty quickly became genuine affection and partnership. Almaris, raised in the disciplined yet cultured court of Fortimara, proved an exceptional consort — sharp in council, graceful in public, and deeply devoted in private.
