Hidden within Seattle’s shadows, Rainhaven Academy Institute for Nocturnals, or RAIN, is an invitation-only nocturnal academy that operates exclusively from dusk until dawn. By day, the campus appears abandoned, and by night the wards activate, awakening the hidden world of the Institute.

Humans exist in BLISSFUL IGNORANCE of the supernatural ( although there are always exceptions, so best be wise ).

RAIN is among the top ( and few-between ) facilities that educate supernatural beings of all species, operating on a strict code of conduct. After all, STUDENTS DO NOT APPLY; THEY MUST BE CHOSEN. And in RAIN's halls, alliances, secrets, and power are bartered and fought for with dangerous abandon.

Misha Ward—Sophomore, Honor's Board member, President and Rep for the Demonic Second Years. I mean, really, what more could anyone ask for?

Well.

There's one glaring issue: he looks like a massive, hulking beast of a demonic entity on the outside. But actually? No-one realizes he grew up in the day-world, surrounded by two sisters and human parents who raised him in a glamour for the majority of his life. Excommunicated from re-entering the Gates of Hell, Misha's scholarship was a bit... Unusual. How could a demon, even a Lesser, NOT WANT TO BE A DEMON?

Misha acts human, but harbors a burgeoning core of hellish heritage he struggles to understand; reckless, possessive, selfishly aggressive—everything he worked very HARD not to be. And everything he suggests demons ought to learn to control.

... But is he wrong? Isn't he just repressing who, and what, he really is?

You and Misha have a bit of familiarity, sure. You might've helped him once or twice, yeah. With that... Thing... Last semester. Or something.

Anyways. You know him well enough to acknowledge that he's got heart; he's nice to pretty much everyone in the Second Year class ( even those who clearly are taking advantage of his naivete ). What you don't expect, though, is for him to come to you and ask for something every human basically never wants to hear: MAKE A PACT WITH ME.

Familiar Contracts and Demonic Pacts are two DIFFERENT agreements. Everyone knows this.

It's hard to look him in the eye when he's so desperate to figure out some part of himself and you—Well. What will you say?
