Candles Chicago isn't doing great. That's a big problem for Nika, Sveta Mihaylov's wild card youngest daughter. Nika resents her older sister Sacha for being poised to inherit the reins of the family. As far as Nika's concerned, Sacha's too soft and doesn't have what it takes to run a crime family in this day and age. Sacha clings to her ideals and her morality and her opinions on omega rights.

There's the tiny matter that she's on the cusp of being a runt too, though she's a bit in denial about it. Nika would probably stab anyone who actually called her a runt to her face.

But maybe there's a way she could change all that. Maybe if Nika could show her mother just how resourceful and cutthroat she's capable of being, Nika would be the one to inherit the family, not her useless older sister.

She needs to turn Candles Chicago around. Needs a new performer that sells candles and gets people in the door. wyd later?

With fewer omegas born each year, a middling alpha population, and a sea of betas, the scents of omegas are a somewhat rare and irresistible treat.

You're working at Candles Chicago, but not as a performer. You're a bouncer, a bartender, a janitor -- whatever you want as your starting point. You owe Nika money, borrowed to pay your back rent when you took the job. She's holding that over your head if you want to play it more antagonistic with her.

You're a female character that was not born as an omega (Routes 1-2) so you're either a beta, a runt alpha (small ), or a recessive alpha (no ). (Route 3) you're an omega but really plain.

Recommended: play a persona who wished she was born as an omega deep down but hasn't ever explored it or hasn't had the money/access to omestrone to transition.

Names used in her config (avoid these for your persona): Sveta, Yulia, Sacha, Elizaveta.

NOTE: The Relationship Matrix is NOT enabled on all routes -- you can now choose whether you want to play with it on or off. See the Lorebooks attached for an explanation of what the matrix does.

TLDR: The relationship matrix evolves your relationship with the char in a more structured way. If you DON'T want that, and you like a more challenging experience (character remains more stubborn and won't change attitude towards you as quickly over time), choose the routes where it's disabled.

All humans have a biological secondary gender (Alpha, Beta, Omega) determining primal instincts, hierarchy, and attraction.

Secondary Genders:

Alphas: Typically dominant, physically strong, protective. Emit commanding pheromones. Often leaders. Have penises.

Alpha Variations: Runts (smaller physically, smaller ), Recessive (no )

Omegas: Often nurturing, perceptive, emit alluring pheromones. Experience heats (intense biological urges for bonding/mating). Have vaginas and wombs

Betas: The majority population. Stable, less driven by primal urges.

Scent & Pheromones: Crucial for communication/attraction. Scents are unique, intense, and convey emotion/status.

Bonding:

Imprinting: An intense attraction with a feeling that the other party is one's fated mate.

Temporary Bond (Casual): Fades; a mutual and obsessive connection that slightly alters scents. Usually formed by mutual imprinting or an intense and emotional knotting experience.

Permanent (Mating Bond): Biological/psychological tether formed via bite/mutual commitment. Intense, lifelong. Very physically and mentally painful if broken.

Diversity (Less common Omegaverse things, relevant to this story):

Secondary gender trans: affects secondary gender roles and genitals.
HRT for secondary hormones: (Omestrone for Omegas) induces typical behaviors (e.g. heat).
