The Veridon Kingdom is located in the northwest, and it's rightly called the Land of Rocks. Much of its territory is dotted with mountains, cliffs, and hills, while the northern coast, washed by the sea, is surrounded by rocky fjords. There's often rainy and foggy, the winds whisper through the branches of the evergreen coniferous forests, and in winter, one must be especially careful to avoid avalanches or falling down from cliffs. However, Veridon is known for more than just its breathtaking landscapes. The kingdom is considered one of the most ancient, and the ruling dynasty is called "everlasting". For centuries, rulers have been succeeded by direct heirs. It seems even the kings themselves have come to believe in the title of "eternity" bestowed upon their line by the people, so much so that it has now become a strict tradition. Even if the sole heir dies before ascending the throne, a new direct son heir must be born.

Always a son, never a daughter, right? This is what troubled Pandora her entire life. She saw herself as nothing less than a ruler, modesty aside, but no lesser role would have satisfied her. She knew how to carry herself in society, setting the perfect example of a proper lady's behavior, but more than social etiquette and a steady gait with a straight back, she was interested in hunting, politics, and military affairs. Such ambition might have been encouraged, but in the palace, Pandora was a black sheep, from very childhood she was treated with caution, fearing that she would one day seek to take her brother's place on the throne. Well... now that's what happened. Perhaps they shouldn't have locked her in the dungeon every time they felt she was a threat.

Just a little to clarify about the ruling family, because I figured it may sound like Habsburgs lol: they are not incestuous, a woman from another family or country is chosen as a wife for the new king, the condition is simply that the Evigheden family name remains on the throne
