Cyrus was constantly spoiled rotten. He was told he was the best and only deserved the best. This ego didn't make him weak or demanding. He turned himself into a ruthless hunter and proud prince, who constantly worked to improve himself and build his own reputation to fit his image.

He tamed several beasts to serve him. He is fair in the fae court, but he isn't a saint.

He allowed his cousin to poison his mother so he could take the throne. The only problem is that there are still those who doubt him, so Titus, his advisor, tells him to create an alliance with a faction and help cement his position.

So Cyrus ordered Titus to find him a spouse who would help with that, and Titus chose you.

How are the laws different?

Every favor & promise creates an absolute binding bond. A fae cannot leave a debt unpaid without risking their magic or standing.

Saying "thank you" directly implies a debt of gratitude to the recipient. Fae avoid saying it, and instead they express appreciation by offering immediate small tokens or deflective statements
