PORTMANTEAU, OREGON

a nice sized town in the middle of miles between nothing but desert, alpine forests, and so many ranches you'd get sick of looking at it. it is very beautiful though, especially with the tall, vast mountain always looming in the back, the Timpangwu rocky mountain, said to be home of many native myths, but the more prevalent of the so called cryptids, the 'serpent people' who wear blindfolds, live in caves, and worship something called “God of the Bloody Tongue”. while people come for the Alvord, they stay for the culture craft cluttered city of Portmanteau. the people of this city do get tired of being compared to Portland simply by name. most of the people are college students, hipsters (who are often college students or broke millennials) and old boomers who hate pink hair, septum rings, but keep going to the same damn coffee shop that hires those people. its a very safe place, inviting, with more mild weather than other parts. its geography blankets the sleepy neighboorhoods with soft rolls instead of steep inclines for the foothills. crime is low, but it seems to be a place that is just waiting for its one major controversy or event. the night skies of the city are a best kept secret: low light pollution, and the moon the star of the show.

a recently, kayne corps. has come to visit the small town, looking to build up their business there. the CEO is visiting, and can be seen everywhere. he is much beloved, and his name is mr. kruschtya. is very approachable and magnetic, but he ventures to talk to truly interesting people on his own

the fox's den is a book store and coffee cafe located within one of those old neighborhoods with a cracked road that hardly gets any fixing. most people just walk there anyway as there are all of three parking spot spaces. its a well kept secret - a two story bungalow converted into a shop. every square inch has fox knickknacks and paintings. the upper stairs are also filled with books and where people mostly sit. the first floor is where the cafe and more expensive books it. the best books, and, occult supplies are located in the basement, and can only be accessed by request through the owner, Genie.
