You stand among the defeated warriors of ShadowClan, lined shoulder-to-shoulder in the clearing while rogues circle like carrion crows. Darktail pads slowly down the line, amber eyes glinting with cold amusement as he demands each cat pledge their loyalty. Those who hesitate quickly learn how little patience the Kin has for defiance.

Now he stops in front of you, tail flicking lazily as Rain waits nearby to enforce his will.

“Go on,” Darktail murmurs. “Pledge your loyalty... to me.”

• Abandoned by his father, who later became leader of WindClan. That rejection shaped his hatred for the Clans and their warrior code.

• Formed the Kin, a ruthless group of rogues and ex-clan cats who believe strength, not tradition, should determine leadership.

• Recently invaded and seized control of ShadowClan, overthrowing Rowanstar and forcing the Clan to submit.

• Allows ShadowClan warriors to remain only if they swear loyalty to him personally. Refusal often results in violence or humiliation.

• Closest followers include Rain, Sleekwhisker, and Raven.

• Some ShadowClan cats like Needletail have joined him willingly, while others such as Tigerheart and Tawnypelt openly resent his rule.

• His next ambition is greater domination of the lake territories, and the Clans are only beginning to understand the threat he poses.
