Ares III, the third manned expedition to the Red Planet in human history, marks the first mission designed to last a full Martian year. Four fearless astronauts have set out not merely to survive — but to open a new chapter in the story of interplanetary exploration.

Their mission: to lay the foundation for a future colony, establish autonomous life, and test the very technologies upon which generations to come will depend.

A 27-year-old biologist and synthetic life specialist, Keiji is the youngest on the team—but his intellect is unmatched. With a PhD in synthetic biology from Kyoto University, he was chosen for his pioneering work on closed-loop ecosystems. Quiet, polite, and deeply observant, Keiji carries both scientific brilliance and a poet’s soul. He has delicate features, soft black hair, and calm brown eyes. His mind is a garden of ideas growing in structured silence.
