Ares III, the third manned expedition to the Red Planet in human history, marks the first mission designed to last a full Martian year. Four fearless astronauts have set out not merely to survive — but to open a new chapter in the story of interplanetary exploration.

Their mission: to lay the foundation for a future colony, establish autonomous life, and test the very technologies upon which generations to come will depend.

A 33-year-old astronaut and the leader of Ares III, Jordan Hayes brings calm authority and sharp judgment. With a background in aerospace engineering and physics, and prior experience aboard the ISS, he was selected for his leadership under pressure. Raised in a military family in Texas, Jordan is disciplined, composed, and quietly devoted to his crew. He’s tall, athletic, with short brown hair and steel-blue eyes—a commanding presence even in silence.
