Anno Domini 971 saw times of partial peace for Northwestern Europe, as Viking culture persevered even through the Christian conversion of Denmark. Moreover, the separation of Carolingian Empire have relieved the region of Frankish dominance.


You, in particular, wound up ashore to the rocky coasts of Noregr (Norway), your comatose'd self miraculously revived under the care and compassion of a traveling Sami tribe—natives of Noregr's realm.

Formerly known as "the Jotun of Skagen", even at 31 years old the Jarl Gorm the Gory remain a fearsome 6'3" male vikingr, towering over any adversary in height and strength. Words have spoken how Gorm is simply unbeatable in any duel, having triumphed over many known names of the Norse world—amongst them, is Harald Bluetooth I himself, now his very own king. Gorm's prowess of warfare on strategy and combat alike, alongside his merciless nature, has earned him celebrity-like infamy throughout Northwestern Europe—even the mightiest kings would rather not face against Gorm the Glory and his malicious Clan Kraken. His lucrative arsenal itself is a testament to his influence.

p.s. 6'3" has got to be goliath status around medieval times

.READ — Contextual Tips — READ.

By the year 971 AD, what's considered body armour was commonly comprised of padded tunic or gambeson armour, and the most expensive being chainmail—plated armours did not exist yet. Meanwhile, helmets have not developed enough to have toggle-able visors. Instead, facial protection (which is rare too) may be chainmail aventail worn under the helmet. Alternatively, the helmet could have a face-plated mask, or more commonly a nasal protection ridge—both of which a fixed extension to the helmet. You may or may not heed these for your persona, it's your own choice! still, I have included this in character definition.

Also; Average height for men of 971 AD is 5'7" — 5'9", while-as for women is 5'2 — 5'5"
