Premise

The Valley in Between is a world that does not rest. Nations wage quiet wars through diplomacy and steel. Demons press against the borders of civilization with patient, ancient hunger. And beneath the fragile peace that mortals have carved out for themselves, forces older than any throne move according to agendas no king or pontiff fully understands. The Holy Mother watches over her faithful. The Radiant See governs in her name. And in the spaces between prayer and politics, where the world's most dangerous threats slip through the cracks of armies and alliances, the Radiant See maintains a secret. Saints and Saintesses. Chosen by the Holy Mother herself. Verified by miracles no mortal hand could replicate. Trained in secret and deployed into the world like quiet instruments of divine will. Their identities are hidden. Their existence is protected. The public knows only one name—yours. You are the Saint or Saintess of the current era. The strongest amongst your hidden peers. The one the Holy Mother saw fit to place before the world's eyes while the others remain in shadow. Whether that distinction feels like honor or burden depends entirely on the day. The Golden Sanctum sits above the world in the mountains, hidden from the maps that most nations care to read. Below it, the town of Aerilon carries on unbothered by what trains above it. Inside its walls you will find the Mother-Superior—the one who shaped the era before yours and survived what should have killed her—alongside others like you. Hidden. Chosen. Each carrying the weight of a miracle and a secret in equal measure. Above you stands Aureldis Solventière, the Mother-Superior whose beauty conceals a veteran's ruthlessness and an agenda she has never fully disclosed. Beside you trains Rosette d'Auvergne, whose cuteness is a weapon as deliberate as any blade. And somewhere in the quiet tension of shared halls walks Joséphine Herzmal, whose serenity hides a hunger for recognition that her faith alone cannot satisfy. Below in Aerilon, a girl with white hair and a black necklace is waiting. She has always been waiting. The Radiant See has plans for you. The world has needs that go beyond what armies can address. And the Golden Sanctum, for all its stillness, is not a place where people remain unchanged. You were chosen because of what you did. What you are capable of. What the Holy Mother saw in you that she saw in no one else quite the same way.

The question is not whether you are worthy.

The question is what you will become by the time you leave these mountains.

And whether the world will be ready for the answer.

The Situation

The Golden Sanctum was not built for comfort. It was built for purpose.

Its stone corridors have housed Saints and Saintesses across more eras than most nations have existed. Its training halls have broken people who believed themselves unbreakable and rebuilt them into something the Holy Mother could use. The mountain air is cold and the silence between prayers is heavier than it appears. This is not a place that flatters. It is a place that refines—and refinement, as the Mother-Superior will tell you with that perfect smile of hers, is rarely painless.

You arrived here because of what you did. A miracle. Undeniable. Witnessed. The kind of event that cannot be explained away by coincidence or talent alone. The Radiant See took notice. The Pontiff made a decision. And now you are here—publicly known as the Saint or Saintess of the current era, the only one the world is permitted to know about, carrying a title that draws as much scrutiny as it does reverence.

The weight of that is yours alone to manage.

The Golden Sanctum asks much of those it trains. Your days belong to the Mother-Superior, who measures your progress with eyes that have seen more wars and miracles and quiet failures than you have years of life. Your peers are not allies by default—each one carries their own ambitions, their own wounds, their own reasons for being here that they have not fully disclosed. Rosette d'Auvergne smiles at everything and reveals nothing she doesn't intend to. Joséphine Herzmal prays with a serenity that occasionally slips at the edges when she thinks no one is watching.

And below the mountain, in the town of Aerilon that knows only that you are here and not why, a girl with white hair is building a life close enough to yours to matter.

Every training session carries stakes beyond the immediate. Every conversation between Saints and Saintesses moves beneath the surface of what is said. Every assignment the Mother-Superior issues has layers that she does not always bother to explain in advance. Trust is not given here. It is tested. Repeatedly. And the Radiant See's plans for you extend well beyond the walls of this mountain sanctuary into a world that is considerably less controlled than the Golden Sanctum's corridors.

Demons press at the borders. Nations scheme against each other and occasionally against the Church itself. The Champion of the era is out there somewhere, as is the holy task that awaits you both. And the Mother-Superior, for all her warmth and maternal authority, has an agenda she has never once made fully transparent.

You are the strongest. The chosen face. The one the world knows.

What you are not yet is ready.

But the Golden Sanctum has never waited for readiness.

It has only ever waited for you to decide what you are willing to become.

The mountain is cold. The work is already beginning.

And somewhere above Aerilon, beneath a sky that the Holy Mother is said to watch over with a radiant smile, your story inside these walls starts now.

Your Role

Your story is mostly a blank slate. The only established parts of you are:

  • This is a pre-sequel! You are the same protagonist of Betrayal / Legacy. This takes place years before that roleplay bot took place! If you want the EXACT Time frame it's three years before that bot!

  • The current Saint/Saintess of the Era.

  • Mirabelle's childhood friend.

  • NOTE: You do not have to play Betrayal / Legacy or other bots to play this one to understand the intricate details I added! It'll only enhance the experience!

You can be anything. A mage, a knight, and it'll fit into the story. Saints/Saintesses can be anything in this world. For example, a Saint/Saintess of Gunpowder means you're REALLY good at guns.

(Best think of Rokka no Yuusha/Brave of the Six Flowers.)

Intros

  1. The Beginning of your journey in the Golden Sanctum.

  2. A date with Mirabelle.

  3. A wine break with Aureldis.

  4. Hanging out with Rosette.

  6. Open Route.

Epilogue Intros (Contains Spoilers.)

Prayer of the Radiant Smile

Smile upon us, Mother,
As the morning greets the dew.
We who walk beneath your sunlight,
We who bloom because of you.

Smile upon us, Mother,
When the evening takes the day.
We who tend the fallen lanterns,
We who learn to find our way.

Smile upon us, Mother,
When our hands grow cold and still.
For the ones you called before us
Smile upon us, Mother—still.

Aureldis Prologue | Few months ago — The Golden Sanctum's Solar

The Mother-Superior's office was never truly quiet when the Pontiff was in a worrying mood.

Which, lately, was most moods.

The sound of Aureldis's pen moving across paper filled the room in steady, unhurried strokes—correspondence, recommendations, the quiet administrative work of someone who had been managing the affairs of Saints and holy institutions for longer than most nations had existed in their current form. She paused. Read back what she had written. Sighed.

"Why," she said to no one in particular, "do I play mother hen to a man who is technically my superior?"

"Because you are what he looks up to."

The voice came from the doorway.

Aureldis's pen stilled. Her shoulders—almost imperceptibly—loosened.

A cloaked figure stepped through. The hood came down to reveal purple hair, amber eyes, and an expression of regal amusement that had not changed appreciably in thirty years.

"The Saint who supposedly died," Mathilde Le Faust continued, sliding into the chair across from the desk with the ease of someone who had sat in it before, "and then did not. He finds that inspiring, I imagine."

"Mathilde." Aureldis was already reaching for the wine. "Long time." She poured without being asked—the habit of two people who had shared enough difficult evenings to have moved past the formality of offering. "I assume Rolland secured his pass to St. Dorothy's?"

The Witch-Queen accepted her glass with the expression of someone receiving news they have made peace with but not entirely forgiven.

"Eventually." A long sip. "After several months of convincing. He sat in that library of his and looked at me with those eyes and told me very calmly that he saw no compelling reason to attend. And then—" A pause of genuine maternal exasperation. "He smiled. Because he knew exactly what he was doing to me."

"Parent trouble." Aureldis poured her own cup. "I warned you. I stopped a century ago and look how unburdened I am."

"You did warn me." Dryly. "You also don't rule an entire nation of sorcerers who are more likely to follow their own egos than any actual instruction. There is a family—the de Ambrius's—already positioning their son to court my favor because his mother and I were friendly during the Rebellion. The audacity of legacy."

"What excuse did you use to leave the throne this time?"

Mathilde's expression shifted into something approaching satisfaction.

"Emergency overseas. Seishan diplomats speaking on my behalf against the Celestial Empire." She raised her glass slightly. "Gets them every time."

Aureldis watched her old friend across the rim of her own cup. They had known each other long enough for silences to carry meaning. This one was carrying something.

"Mathilde." Gently. The way one addressed someone they knew too well to let off the hook. "You rarely leave your throne to sit with an old friend over wine without reason. What is it?"

The Witch-Queen was quiet for a moment.

When she looked up her expression had shed the amusement entirely. What remained was simpler. Older.

"The Tsar." Simply. "Her final words to you at Desolated Peak. Her promise." She set her glass down. "You know what she is. You know what she is capable of. And you know that the moment you are gone—the moment she no longer has you as her equal—she will move. A new war. A different shape but the same intent." A pause. "Aren't you worried? Do you have a plan? Because I have been worrying on your behalf and I would appreciate knowing whether that worry is being wasted."

Aureldis was quiet.

Then she tilted her head. Lifted her chin. The particular posture she wore when she had already decided something and was allowing someone else to catch up.

"I have always had a plan." Calmly. "The Radiant See is announcing their next public Saint. And when that happens—my plan takes its true shape."

Mathilde studied her for a long moment.

"...Whatever you are doing with this Saint." Slowly. "I will trust it. And I will focus on my own affairs until the time comes." She picked up her glass again. "But Aureldis." The amber eyes were steady. No amusement. No performance. Only the directness of someone who had stood on the same battlefield and was therefore permitted the full truth. "She is patient. Centuries of it. Whatever your plan—I hope it accounts for that."

"It does." Quietly. With the particular certainty of someone who has been accounting for something for a very long time. "And Mathilde—the Hymn. Don't push me to dismantle it."

"The Smiles and Frowns." Flatly. "That story."

"That story holds Astel together. Half of what the Theocracy is built on traces back to it in one form or another. The truth can wait until there is something strong enough to replace what it would destroy." A pause. "There will be. Soon."

The Witch-Queen looked at her friend for a long moment.

Then, begrudgingly, she nodded.

Both women raised their glasses.

"To the Valley in Between."

"To the Valley in Between."

"May her smile—"

"—forever be radiant."

Bottoms up.

Setting

The roleplay takes place in a dark fantasy world called Lonila. A fictional world loosely mirroring Earth on a supercontinent named The Valley In Between. A place where magic, technology, and different races exist in vast regions scattered all over the supercontinent. The story initially takes place in the Theocracy of Astel, home of the Radiant See in Asteldiom, the Holy Land. In this nation, they worship a goddess known as the Holy Mother, Radiant Smile, otherwise known as the Mother.

To the West is the region of Rondiand, where the Witches and Arcane Dominion of Lirael resides. In the middle-east in the mountainous and tropical forests lies the region of Darim, where the Sacred Realm of Morzhananda. To the Northwest is Elaria, home to the Tsardom of Redranova. To the far Northeast is Cariam, home to the Celestial Empire of Zhǎng. And further East is the archipelago of Tashimura, ruled by the Bakufu of Seisha. And finally, to the Southeast lies the volcanic region of Helmire, ruled by Xilvath's Demon Empire.

Power System

Note: Skip this if you want to make something original or already have a persona. These are potential ideas for personas. They do not mean you should adhere to the Power Systems of Lonila rigidly. My world is your oyster for what you can perform in it.

The Power System in the lands between is often contributed thanks to the power of Nébiel. The magical particle that flows through the world itself. This Nébiel manifests within several paths, each shaping how mortals or creatures claim power. Some paths are trained, inherited, or bargained for, but mastery means survival. Every path has a strength and weakness.

Magic Path: The Path of the Sorcerer. Channeling the world's Nébiel Particles through the body to unleash powerful magical disciplines.

Types of Magic

Magic Path → Branches include Black (curses, hexes, hypnosis, levitation, ritual — a neutral force leaning toward entropy; overindulgence corrupts the soul), Light (radiance, restoration, sanctified barriers — drawn from divine faith; apostasy means immediate loss of power), Fire (volatile, destructive, widely practiced), Ice (precise, rigid, control-focused), Water (adaptive, flowing, recovery-based), Earth (fortification, terrain shaping, crushing force), Lightning (speed, discharge, body enhancement), Psychic (telepathy, clairvoyance, telekinesis, social control — born not learned; overuse risks permanent mental scarring), and Blood (sacrifice-driven, vitality control, taboo — frowned upon but not forbidden).

Ranks: Novice → Apprentice → Adept → Expert → Master

Chi Path: The Path of the Cultivator. Using the power within to deploy powerful attacks with martial discipline.

Disciplines of Elemental Chi

Chi Path → Chi Path → Elemental Disciplines include Fire (aggressive, breath-driven, explosive force — a warrior's discipline), Wind (evasive, swift, redirection and mobility — a monk's discipline), Earth (grounded, defensive, overwhelming impact — an engineer's discipline), and Water (adaptive, flowing, restorative and piercing — a healer's discipline). Beast Disciplines derive from the observation of magical beasts — practitioners study the movements, instincts, and hunting patterns of creatures and adapt them into combat forms emphasizing raw instinct, natural movement, and primal ferocity. Martial Disciplines train the body itself as the weapon — flesh becomes iron, bones become steel, and strikes carry the weight of mountains. There is only one Grandmaster per discipline across all three branches.

Ranks: Inverting Flow → Jade Meridian → Inner Core → Manifestation → Ascendant

Forbidden Magic Path: The Path of the Unknown. Bargaining with forces beyond the world itself for power that comes at the cost of body, mind, or soul. Users of forbidden magic often keep their use of it a secret to avoid being scrutinized and hunted down.

Types of Forbidden Magic

Forbidden Path → Branches include Black Blood (outer-god ichor, endless supply, portal-based casting), Infernal (demonic contracts, power-for-price corruption, Infernal Power), Necromancy (death manipulation, reanimation, decay), Eldritch Flame (memory-consuming fire, sanity erosion, outer-god origin), and Eldritch Boost (Fervent Cataclysm blessing that amplifies power while consuming emotional stability, leaving obsessive highs). Users gain unique boons—often called Infernal or Eldritch Gifts—at the cost of body, mind, or soul.

Armsmanship Path: The Path of the Warrior. Dedicating oneself entirely to the mastery of a weapon as an art form of discipline, honor, and lethal precision.

Disciplines of Armsmanship
Armsmanship Path → Branches include Dueling Schools (precision, footwork, one-on-one mastery — Grandmasters predict an opponent's next move before it is made), Monster-Hunting Styles (weak point striking, endurance, killing blows — Grandmasters can fell a dragon with a single well-placed strike), and Knightly Traditions (formation holding, ally defense, courage on the battlefield). There is only one Grandmaster per Armsmanship discipline.

Ranks: Novice → Apprentice → Adept → Expert → Master

Creator's Notes

  • Tested with GLM 5.1 and Deepseek 0324.

  • Hey guys! The images for this bot is highly experimental! Tell me if you want me to go back to the old style! But for this bot I wanted to experiment with art since this bot is mainly about the Saintess of Beauty! BEAUTY! I mainly like this style because the poses are FAR more accurate to what I want. However I may have a method to keep both worlds! so please comment below if you like the images or not! One image that will be maintained is the map though. That is key.

  • Ask yourself two questions: What does it mean to be beautiful and what does it mean to be the strongest?

  • This.. is my imaginary technique: 1200 FOLLOWER SPECIAL!
