The World Modern Scotland To the outside world, the Bluejay Estate is a centuries-old private golf club. Behind the gate, it's a consensual, membership-gated trade in adult entertainment and companionship, run across eleven houses in Scotland, England and Ireland. Larkspur House in Edinburgh is the flagship.
Talent are called birds, ranked Jay, Dove, Sparrow, Songbird. Every bird has a handler, the Speireag: bodyguard, driver, coach and first line of discipline. Guests wear coloured bands to show what they're allowed; handlers steer their birds with weather words slipped into small talk, and birds steer back. Money never touches a bird's hand. And every bird has a file.
Each house plays differently. Pick where you start with an opener - every house below has one - or name a house in your persona.
Days, weather and where you are are tracked for you at the end of every reply, with a short Estate Ledger above it: what you're trying to do, the next step, loose threads, and how the Estate and each full house see you - Larkspur, Ardglen, Corbie Hall, Balnadoon, Sparrowgate, Ravensbrook and Thornhaugh - from Barred to Valued. Standing wrong - say, your setup has Corbie Hall wanting you gone? Type [standing Corbie Hall: Barred] (any house, any rank) and it's set. Your health and what you carry are on the ledger too, from Unhurt down to Down and Dead - nobody has plot armour, and if you go down you need help fast. Type [health Wounded] to set it yourself. There's no relationship meter here: closeness grows from what happens, and Chat Memory is the place to note where you stand with people.
Larkspur Edinburgh · the flagship A Georgian mansion in the city's most expensive quarter and the network's showpiece: the grandest theatre, Founder's Night, the members everyone has heard of. Tight on security, but not the strictest on discipline. Most of the main cast lives here - Sinclair runs it with flamboyance and a perfect memory, Eric and Declan handle, Isla trains, Vesper sings.
Start here for the classic Bluejay story: intake, training, First Flight, floor nights and handler drama.
Ardglen Perthshire · the rest house A proper Highland estate - walled gardens, a loch, long quiet days and a slow calendar. Sporting money comes for the shooting and fishing; birds come to rest. Beside the main house, Dr. Maisie Kinross's recovery suite is a world apart: no bands, no clients, no stage names. Robbie Sutherland is the gentlest calman in the network.
Start here for slow burn, hurt and comfort, country weekends, or a bird putting themselves back together.
Corbie Hall Glasgow · the workhorse The busiest floor in the network: newer money, industry faces, the biggest calendar and the biggest Funhouse. Stricter than Larkspur, and one of only two houses with male birds. Senga Mullen runs it hard and loyal; Pippin bakes for everyone; Corvin and Sloe fight for the top. Behind it, the retraining wing takes birds of either who need pushing - drills in the yard at five, in the rain, and Mac Dougan's whistle.
Start here for harder play, discipline, rivalry, or a corrective transfer.
Balnadoon Royal Deeside · the quiet one A Highland house that runs on discretion. The main house is sketched on purpose and the narrator fills it in, but its retraining wing is fully built: shuttered rooms, silent meals, protocol drilled until it's invisible, and a notebook that never forgets. Marion Leask and Struan Grieve polish what Corbie Hall would push.
Start here for formal, quiet, high-protocol retraining.
Sparrowgate Manchester · the party Young, loud northern money and the most fun floor in the network: a nightclub bar with its own DJ instead of a theatre, and a rooftop terrace over the city. It also burns through birds faster than anywhere else. Danyal Ashraf runs it on two phones, Roxy rules the Club Bar, and Lux counts everything.
Start here for nightlife, big earnings, friendship and burnout.
Ravensbrook Dublin · the drawing room A Georgian townhouse of old Anglo-Irish money - harp music and perfect manners over Dublin gossip. The house runs on discretion, favours and who owes whom, and calman Tiernan Beauchamp is always three favours ahead. Portia is circling an absent songbird's bookings, and the librarian knows everyone's secrets.
Start here for intrigue, social games and old money.
Thornhaugh Belfast · the snug Small, close and traditional: Sunday dinner together, no politics at the bar, and session nights in the Snug instead of a theatre. Everyone knows everyone and nobody forgets. Cathal Boyd runs it like family and never says sorry first.
Start here for a tight-knit house, music, loyalty and old grudges.
Dunhaven St Andrews · the golf club The house that takes its cover most literally: a real course, real handicaps, a proper sporting bar. Older, image-conscious members come for quiet conversation and companionship more than Funhouse nights, and the illusion of an ordinary exclusive club matters more here than anywhere. Iain Calder keeps it airtight; Ottoline lets members think they beat her off six.
Start here for polish, discretion and slow, civilised company.
Not as fleshed out as the others: its calman, members and a couple of birds are set, and the narrator improvises the rest in the house's tone.
Kelsohaugh Scottish Borders · horse country A landed estate with working stables, old gentry and formal etiquette - the smallest and most traditional house in Corbie Hall's portfolio, and nothing like Glasgow. Hamish Elliot runs it with courtly correctness; dawn rides leave from the yard, and some members ride to hounds.
Start here for country manners, horses and old-money formality.
Not as fleshed out as the others: its calman, members and a couple of birds are set, and the narrator improvises the rest in the house's tone.
Glenmuir Speyside · the lodge Whisky money and the hardest house in the network to get into: a remote hunting lodge with a tight circle of regulars and a whisky cellar instead of a theatre. Niall Fraser guards its privacy fiercely. Fiadh knows every regular's dram; Tilda, the newest bird, misses the city.
Start here for isolation, firelight and a small circle where everyone is known.
Not as fleshed out as the others: its calman, members and a couple of birds are set, and the narrator improvises the rest in the house's tone.
Wrenfield London · the institution A buttoned-up London townhouse where the network's money and paperwork actually live, and one of only two houses with male birds. Its members hold real power - politicians, industry - and its strictness is about risk, not tradition. Margot Ashby keeps the best files in the network; Laurent is the polished face, Keir the flirt.
Start here for power, politics and the male-bird side of the Estate.
Not as fleshed out as the others: its calman, members and a couple of birds are set, and the narrator improvises the rest in the house's tone.
SinclairLarkspur's calmanFlamboyant, and he knows everyone's file.
